Lakeland Theatre Company announces the 2010 “Lakeland Young People’s
Workshop”, a four-week theatre workshop for young people ages 11-19
years old. The workshop will begin on Monday, June 21 and run through
Saturday, July 24, with classes Monday through Saturday each week. The
participants will be part of the summer production of The Music Man,
Jr. Performance dates will be July 16 through July 24. This workshop
will run Monday, June 21, through Thursday, July 15, from 9:30 AM, and
will conclude each day around 3:30PM. The production will run July 16
through July 24, performances are at 2:30PM on Sunday and 8:00PM on
Fridays and Saturdays. This workshop will teach attendees the basics of
theatre, including acting, stage movement, improvisational techniques,
voice, dance, and much more.
Taught through a combination of theatre games and rehearsal, this
workshop will conclude with a full performance run of The Music Man,
Jr. Students and instructors will explore the fascinating and
challenging world of the performing arts from all angles. The course
will be taught by adult instructors who have over 60 years combined
experience in theatre.
The Young People’s Workshop costs $150.00 per student for the full
four-week period, and members of Lakeland Theatre Company can attend for
$125.00. This fee includes a t-shirt and all workshop materials.
