A Message from the Director (Summer 2010)

Why Community Theater is Important

All shows are subject to availability from the royalty houses that own the rights and/or ASCAP, who owns rights to the music that we employ in non-musical presentations. Lakeland does not produce or condone the production of any shows where royalties and rights are not acknowledged and paid for by the producing organization prior to its presentation.

Lost in the Fifties Tonight - opens Friday, August 13

Get ready for a trip back to the 50’s! Following the phenomenal success of last year’s revue, an all-new show premieres at Lakeland Theatre Company this August as we present Lost In The Fifties Tonight!

Directed by Doug Wright and starring a host of Lakeland favorites including Brady Martin, Tia Bedwell, and Larry Williams, the show features the talents of Shane Williams, Akasha Bache, Donivan Jordan, Elyse Jordan, Alicia Grimes, Les Everhart, Donna Murray, George Kimble, Denny Dooling and Mandy Outman as well.

With songs like “At The Hop”, “Peggy Sue”, “He’s So Fine”, “Your Cheatin’ Heart” and “All Shook Up” plus 20 more favorites, you will be singing and dancing in the aisles with this incredible group of performers when they get together at Lakeland this August!

Show times and dates are: Friday and Saturday nights, August 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 at 8:00 PM, and a special matinee on Sunday, August 22 at 2:30 PM. Tickets for performances are $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for students and children. There are discounts for members of Lakeland and for groups of 15 or more adults.

If enough reservations are received prior to Wednesday, August 11, we will also serve a “blue-plate special” dinner prior to the show on Opening Night, August 13. Please call for reservations and more information on Lost In The Fifties Tonight! We’ll see you here at Lakeland!

BBQ Chicken Plate Fundraiser - Saturday, August 21 only

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 21, as Lakeland Theatre Company holds a BBQ Chicken Plate and Bake Sale, auction, and show at 411 Mosby Avenue in Littleton!

From 10:00 Am to Noon, there will be an auction of antiques, old furniture and consignment items to the general public, conducted by Goins Auctioneers. Then from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, we will be serving a BBQ Chicken Plate, which includes a half-chicken, cole slaw, potato salad and a roll for only $6.00 each. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time from any Lakeland board member or at Lakeland by calling 252-586-3124. Also, there will be a huge bake sale featuring an assortment of delicious home-made baked goodies going on from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, or until all items are sold.

After a bonfire of old wood at 7:00 PM, Lakeland Theatre Company presents “Lost In The Fifties Tonight”, a great tribute to the music and mayhem of the 1950’s in America. Anyone who lived in the era, and anyone who loves the music and the history of the times needs to see this fantastic show!

For BBQ tickets, show tickets, and more information regarding the auction, please call Lakeland Theatre Company.
